Susila Kaila – A Story of Strength and Awareness 

Susila Kaila, a teacher from Kakinada, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021 during the second COVID-19 lockdown. Although she had always feared the possibility of cancer, the diagnosis came as a shock when a mammogram confirmed the presence of a tumor in her left breast. 

Determined not to let fear overcome her, Susila chose to face the disease with courage and positivity. After consulting specialists in Hyderabad, she underwent breast-conserving surgery followed by several rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. While the treatment was physically exhausting and came with severe side effects, Susila remained strong with the support of her husband, family, and well-wishers. 

Despite the challenges, she maintained a hopeful outlook and focused on recovery. Her treatment was successfully completed in November 2021, marking the beginning of a new chapter in her life. 

After recovering, Susila returned to her teaching career and dedicated herself to raising awareness about breast cancer. Through her YouTube channel “Knowledge Bricks,” she shares her experience, spreads awareness about early detection, and offers encouragement to others going through similar journeys. 

Today, Susila continues to inspire many with her message that cancer is not a death sentence, and that strength, awareness, and timely treatment can help people overcome the disease.
