Strength Through the Right Care – A Journey of Courage and Trust

Noor Sandhu, a trained opera singer and music educator, was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer at the age of 30. At the time, she was living and working in Hanoi when she first noticed a lump in her breast. Initially believed to be a minor condition, further medical evaluation and a biopsy confirmed the diagnosis, turning her life unexpectedly.

Determined to seek the best possible treatment, Noor and her family carefully researched their options and chose to undergo treatment under the expert guidance of Dr. P. Raghu Ram at KIMS-Ushalakshmi Centre for Breast Diseases in Hyderabad. Her treatment plan included a mastectomy followed by multiple cycles of chemotherapy under the care of a multidisciplinary team.

The journey through treatment was physically and emotionally demanding. Noor experienced common side effects of chemotherapy, including fatigue and hair loss, which required significant adjustment. Despite these challenges, she maintained a positive outlook and focused on recovery.

Throughout this period, the support of her family played a vital role. Her parents and sister stood by her at every step, providing emotional strength and reassurance. She also found comfort in staying connected with her students, friends, and colleagues, whose encouragement helped her remain strong during difficult moments.

Noor believes that having the right medical care, along with a strong support system, makes a significant difference in facing cancer. Today, she continues to move forward with resilience and gratitude, inspiring others with her strength and outlook on life.
